Supporting Stem

Supporting education has always been a priority of ours.

We want to inspire the next generation of school and university students to look to manufacturing for a career whilst also showing them the opportunities they could have in Denroy and in Northern Ireland’s manufacturing sector. In particular we want to promote a diverse work force in our sector and encourage young women to embrace a career in engineering and manufacturing.

Build A Plane

In 2019 Denroy joined a number of other partners including: Bombardier, Queens University, Victrex, JW Kane, Collins Aerospace, Thales, Boeing, the Education Authority and the RAF to launch a Build A Plane project. The project will see local schools in Northern Ireland come together to build a flying aircraft that will be flown at Farnborough Airshow.

Max Rainey Medal

Named after our founder, Max Rainey OBE, the Max Rainey medal is awarded at Queens University Belfast each year to the 3rd or 4th year engineering student who achieves the highest mark in their individual project on a topic related to polymer products or the development of polymer materials.

Formula Student

In summer 2019 Denroy sponsored Queens Formula Student.

Queens ELP

Denroy is part of Queens’ Engineering Leadership Programme. We provide internship opportunities for students on the programme in order for them to gain experience and insight in an innovative and fast paced environment.

Tours for Schools

At Denroy we’re always keen for schools to visit us and experience what it’s like to work in a local manufacturing company. We host tours for schools and colleges regularly.

Work Experience and Internships

Denroy offers work experience opportunities for school students and Internships for University students. Our Internships are organised through the local universities.

Partnering for Innovation

Denroy works with partners both locally and internationally to collaborate and enable the advancement of Thermoplastics and Polymer technology. Some of our industrial partners include: Bombardier, Airbus, Boeing, Victrex, Tencate, Collins Aerospace, Thales, Spirit, GKN and others. Denroy are members of the Northern Ireland Advanced Composites and Engineering Centre (NIACE), the Northern Irish Polymer Association (NIPA), the British Plastics Federation (BPF).
