Technical Design Engineer

  1. Tell me about your role at Denroy.

I have been working with Denroy for nearly three years, I started in 2020 as a Placement Technical Design Student during my third year of university, after finishing Uni I have since come back to Denroy in August 2023 as a Graduate Technical Design Engineer and now as a Technical Design Engineer.

Within the role of a Technical Design Engineer, you see almost all sides to the business by dealing with customers, suppliers, internal processes, and a variety of software in the form of CAD, ERP and PLM packages.

  1. How have your skills and expertise developed within your job? 

As our role within the company is so varied, my CAD abilities, project management, and communication skills have all significantly improved since I joined from university.

I have had the opportunity to complete a lot of hands-on training alongside several certified courses to help expand my knowledge and capabilities within the polymer industry.

  1. What are some of your professional goals within Denroy? 

I would like to become more proficient and certified with various CAD and PLM software. This will help within my current role within Denroy, improving relationships with customers and overall aiding efficiency within our area of the business.

  1. What is one of your proudest moments or achievements whilst working with Denroy?

One of my proudest moments within Denroy has been working alongside a team helping to implement a new PLM system which has been instrumental in receiving certification from one of our largest customers.

  1. What’s something you are passionate about outside of the working world? 

Outside of work I have an interest in sports and fitness with completing North Chilterns Ultra Marathon and the plan of completing a 2026 Ironman.
