Bangor based plastics company Denroy have welcomed the announcement of their SC21 (Supply Chain for the 21st Century) award announced by Minister Arlene Foster at today’s ADS conference in Belfast. The awards were presented at the new ‘Titanic Belfast’ building during the national SC21 Task Force conference.
With aerospace industry growth firmly dependent on robust supply chains, SC21 is proving to be a critical vehicle required to deliver industrial competitiveness. SC21 aims to improve UK aerospace and defence industry suppliers in areas such as business excellence, manufacturing excellence and quality and delivery. SC21 is governed and managed by ADS Group Ltd (the UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space trade organisation) on behalf of the industry.
Chairman John Rainey said that this is the latest in a line of significant events for Denroy, which has seen its recent growth consolidated, with new, and significant orders close to being announced.
“Denroy has celebrated its 40th anniversary in style this year through the development of new markets, the achievement of new orders and now with the confirmation of its SC21 status. This is a hugely significant development for our company as it now sets us up to go after significant new work in the near future”.
The Westminster event was a double header with the Company taking the lead role in a Defence Sector related trade mission to promote Companies from Northern Ireland within the sector. With many dignitaries including Owen Patterson Secretary of State for NI, the Minister of State, the Shadow Secretary of State, local MP’s and buyers from the MOD and many other defence sector businesses present the response we received was very encouraging and it is planned that follow up meetings will be arranged at the Farnborough Air show this July. Minister of State Hugo Swire has expressed an interest in visiting Denroy prior to the Farnborough event.
The day ended with a dinner hosted by Denroy in the prestigious surroundings of the National Liberal Club.
